Ministry Staff

  • Vicar

    Vanessa has experience and qualifications in education and ministry. She has held positions as a high school teacher, a School Chaplain, and has ministered in the Anglican parishes of Avalon with Palm Beach, St Andrew’s Wahroonga, and St Anne’s Strathfield. Vanessa has also served as a member of the School Council of Barker College Hornsby and as a member of the Anglican Education Commission in the Sydney Diocese.

    Vanessa then moved to the Diocese of Canberra and Goulburn where she took on the roles of Rector of the Parish of Christ Church West Goulburn, Anglican Chaplain at the Goulburn Base Hospital and President of the Goulburn Association of Churches.

    In January 2016 Vanessa moved to the Parish of St Thomas Moonee Ponds and in February 2020 she took on the added responsibility of Archdeacon of Essendon.

    Vanessa is married to Paul and has two rescue cats. She plays completion squash and loves following the Australian cricket team and the Sydney Swans. In her spare time, Vanessa enjoys reading, taking photos, camping in national parks and going for walks with Paul.

    Vanessa is passionate about encouraging members of the community to consider the teachings and example of Jesus for life and faith.

  • Children and Youth Minister

    A born bred Singaporean, Wayne moved to Australia in 2008 to pursue a career in 3d Animation. In 2012 he had the previllege of working on the award winning movie, Happy Feet 2, after which he spent 11 years working at Ridley Theological College as the Creatvie Engagement Manager.

    In 2020, Wayne began studies in a Masters of Divinity, at which point he felt God’s call to serve in the families and young people ministry. Prior to being the Children and Youth minister, Wayne also has many years of children’s ministry experience in his home church in Singapore.

    Wayne is passionate to see the next generation of young christians grow up in the knowledge and love of Jesus, and is excited to see young people reach their full potential in God’s mission in the world.

    During the week, Wayne also works as the Director of Partnerships for CMS Victoria, a missions organisation commited to seeing a world that knows Jesus.

    Wayne is married to Enqi Weng and lives with two demanding cats. He balances his life with competitive badminton, and playing his favourite blues tunes with his guitar collection.
